Information about effects of Middle East escalation

Due to the current geopolitical development in the Middle East, we would like to inform you about the potential impacts on ongoing and future shipments.

The current situation and the continuous attacks on the countries in the Persian Gulf may have significant effects on transportation routes, transit times, energy prices, as well as insurance and security requirements.

Unfortunately, this may result in additional costs that are beyond our control and cannot be absorbed by us. Shipping lines have already started to increase freight rates and impose additional costs

War incidents and related surcharges

As already mentioned, the shipping companies are now gradually introducing surcharges to mitigate the consequences of this situation. We reserve the right to pass these surcharges on to our customers accordingly and we will keep you informed of any developments in this regard.

As per today we expect that the following costs may apply to your shipments:

  • Increased fuel charges as a result of rising energy and raw material prices
  • Increased freight rates due to longer transit times or additional routing
  • Surcharge for re-routing of shipments
  • Increased war risk surcharges
  • Security related additional costs in ports, transshipment hubs at border crossings
  • Additional administrative efforts due to revised compliance and documentation requirements

We continue to monitor the situation closely and can assure you that we are taking all necessary steps to avoid any potential risks for your shipments and your goods. This information is also available for download HERE .

If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Kind regards
