Increase in HGV tolls as of 1 January 2023
The toll for HGVs weighing 7.5 tonnes or more on federal trunk roads will increase on 1 January 2023. The percentage change in the toll ranges from plus 3.8 percent for vehicles in Euro pollutant class 6 with a gross vehicle weight of 18 tonnes or more and with more than four axles to 40.6 percent for vehicles in Euro pollutant class 4 with a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 to 12 tonnes.
The toll is made up of three sub-areas: road wear, air pollution and noise pollution. The increase in the truck toll will inevitably lead to increases in transport prices.
