On December 17, 2025, the 2025 Toll Tariff Regulation was published in Austria and became legally binding. It sets out the toll rates applicable from January 1, 2026, for the use of Austrian federal highways.

The adjustments vary depending on the type of drive: For electric trucks and hydrogen trucks, the toll rates will increase only moderately by 0.85% to 1.73%. For all other vehicle types, the rates will increase more significantly, namely by 5.16% to 9.28%.

From Thursday, January 1, 2026, tolls in Poland will increase by between 4% and 6.6%, depending on the vehicle class. The toll rate is based on the EURO class of the vehicles, depending on the exhaust emission limits.

From mid-2026, a new distance-based toll system for trucks with a gross vehicle weight of over 3.5 tons will be introduced in the Netherlands. This distance-based system will apply to almost all motorways and many provincial and urban roads. The toll will be charged per kilometer driven and will be based on the weight and CO₂ emissions of the vehicle. The previous Eurovignette system (flat-rate truck vignette) will then be abolished in the Netherlands.

The new tariffs will have a direct impact on cost structures and calculations in road freight transport.
