The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation SCO Summit in Qingdao

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will probably be held in Qingdao from 9th to 10th June this year. The People's Republic of China, Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, India and Pakistan are members of the SCO and represent approx. 40% of the world population. The organization deals with security issues, economy and commerce as well as stability in the region (source: Wikipedia).

So far, no official government notice about the expected impacts on safety in the region is available but it is expected that specific security measures will be applied to Qingdao and the surrounding area. Our Chinese partners therefore recommend early booking and documentation of ocean freight to and from the port of Qingdao during the expected time span. Any road transportation should also be planned well in advance to avoid traffic control at that time.
