Hong Kong tightens quarantine restrictions

Due to record-setting COVID-19 case counts in Hong Kong, officials have further tightened quarantine measures. This is bound to cause delays to shipments and we therefore recommend to book transportation as far in advance as possible.

Cross-border transit between China and Hong Kong has become particularly constrained. Capacity has been cut by at least 50% with approximately 800 truck drivers in quarantine and wait times at some crossing points increasing by as much as nine and a half hours.

We are offering alternate solutions to shippers, including prioritizing Guangzhou and Shenzhen airports as export gateways and, when feasible, providing barge/feeder service from south China to Hong Kong in place of trucking services.
